HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MEDICARE PLAN FOR YOU
Do you need both hospital and medical coverage?
Yes – Enroll in Medicare Part A and B and consider a Medicare Advantage plan
Medicare Part A provides hospital insurance. Medicare Part B provides medical insurance. Most people qualify for premium-free Part A, but you have to pay for Part B, and you may be to delay enrollment if you have qualify coverage through a job. Medicare Advantage combines the coverages found in Parts A and B.
Are you worried about out-of-pocket costs?
Yes – Consider a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan or Medicare Advantage plans.
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) has no out-of-pocket maximum. To control your out-of-pocket costs, you can purchase a Medicare Supplement Insurance plan to go with your Original Medicare coverage OR you can purchase a Medicare Advantage plan. Medicare Supplement Insurance plans cover many out-of-pocket costs, and Medicare Advantage plans have annual out-of-pocket maximums.

Yes — Consider a Medicare Advantage plan.
Most people qualify for premium-free Medicare Part A, but there is a premium for Medicare Part B, Medicare Part D, Medicare Supplement Insurance plans, and some Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare Supplement Insurance policy premiums vary widely. The average Medicare Advantage premium in 2022 is expected to be $19, and some plans have a $0 premium.
Do you want coverage for specific providers or facilities?
Yes — Check your plan’s network.
Medicare Advantage plans use networks of doctors and facilities. Check whether your primary care physicians and specialist providers are included in the network.
Do you need prescription drug coverage?
Yes — Purchase a Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan.
You can purchase a standalone Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. Many Medicare Advantage plans are Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans and include prescription drug coverage.
